Nigel Siberry and Associates A New Dimension to Property Selling

History

I have been an Estate Agent since 1968 after leaving the regular army until selling Siberrys in 2006. My first position as an office boy/ junior negotiator in a well respected old fashioned business gave me a fantastic grounding that would hardly be available today. As well as gradually being introduced to potential buyers I spent a lot of time helping the surveyor on building society valuations, learning about building construction and professional valuation methods.

In 1970 I moved to another company becoming branch manager 6 months later which confirmed the previous training I had. 1972 saw another move, this time to Hamptons as a senior country house negotiator. I was based in St.James’s, London covering the whole of the country. From 1977 until 1984 I worked in Hampstead, London, with a brief period as branch manager with Connells in St Albans.

I then joined an old Army friend of mine as a partner of Halls Residential in St Albans. This was a very dynamic time which saw a substantial growth in our market share to such a level that we were bought out by Hamptons in 1989. I stayed with them as Associate Country House director until towards the end of 1990 when I moved to Sussex and established Siberrys Estate Agents .
